Coimbatore has got good number of places to visit and spend the time leisurely on recreation and amusement. The entire family with young and old can enjoy when they visit places in and around Coimbatore city just by short trips. You will agree that just walking on the DB road of RS Puram will be sufficient to spend the evening hours as there are a lot of shops decorated with neon and focus lights. You will find shops that sell eatables in a joyful ambience. There are hotels called Village and Amma which serve the nutrient rich traditional rural foods.

Parks and pleasure spots in Coimbatore

There are parks and gardens with lustrous green trees, shrubs, bushes and plants with colorful flowers. The botanical garden at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is the biggest one with varieties of ornamental plants for study and enjoyment.

The shopping places and complexes in this Coimbatore city are worth visiting to spend time for shopping.

Water falls and water theme parks in Coimbatore

There are some small waterfalls named Vaideki, Kovai Kutrallam and Siruvani with in the easy reach from Coimbatore. Siruvani dam is the drinking water reservoir for this entire Coimbatore city. Coimbatore has amusement parks with water theme at Kovai Kondattam and Black Thunder. Your family will enjoy the whole trip to these picnic places.

Temples and pilgrimage centers in Coimbatore

There are quite a number of big temples nearby Coimbatore city for holy worship.

Lord Shiva temple at Perur, Lord Muruga Temple at Marudhamalai, Badrakali Amman temple at Mettupalayam, Dhyanalingam at Vellingiri hills, Sri Lord Venkateshwara Temple at Then-Tirupathi are legendary pilgrimage centers.
